Kir's MRI, January 27, 2009

Kirsten picked up a compact disk today that includes digital files of all her MRI scans. It’s cool to cycle through them like a video exploration of her cranium.

This morning, before meeting Kirsten for lunch at the hospital, we went to the Children’s Museum of Maine. We arrived thirty minutes before opening so we killed time drinking hot chocolate at Starbucks.

Enjoy.

IguanaI don’t really have the desire to have a pet. I enjoyed the many cats and dogs we had while I was growing up; however I’m not much of an animal person now. I don’t like the smell, the hair, the dirtiness, or the hassle that is involved with taking care of them…not to mention the cost.

My ideal pet would be a goldfish because I like watching fish swim around in tanks. I like goldfish because my favorite color is gold.

I would get a rectangular tank because they have more space than other tanks.

I would name my fishes Goldie, Charm and Swimmer.

boxer-dog-breedI’m not a pet guy, simply because they are too expensive, dirty and time consuming.

If I were to get a pet it would be a Boxer dog. An ideal pet would be a Boxer dog that neither barked, ate, shed, shat, became ill, required attention nor grooming.

Perhaps I should stick to human kids. If raised properly they eventually take care of themselves. What pet can do that trick?

beagle_skyeIf I could have any pet in the world I would want a dog. Not just any dog, I want a Beagle. I want a Beagle because they are so cute and cuddly. If you sleep with one you will be warm. I especially want a Beagle because I like the pattern of their spots.

My Beagle would be named Brownie because Beagles have a rich brown color like a chocolate brownie. I would buy it a comfy bed, cage, dog food, doggy treats, collar, leash, dog bowl, doggy sized bathtub, scrubber, shampoo, soap, and toys to play with.

I would play with Brownie when I’m not too busy. Later in my life if I was too busy I would buy another dog to be Brownie’s friend. I would play with both of them any time I could and take them on walks.

My ideal pet is a Beagle dog.

A couple days ago Jason Gendron and I decided to go on a cruise in Casco Bay. We quickly sketched out some plans and Jason invited the rest of the Maine Flickr Meetup Group.

This morning the girls and I met Jason for breakfast at the Palace Diner in Biddeford. It was excellent, as usual! After Jason left I met a couple guys my age and enjoyed a conversation about iPhones and education (they both had iPhones and one was a local elementary school principal).

I love New England, and I’m very happy to be living in Maine. I’ve really enjoyed the camping trips we’ve taken and would love to go again, especially up near Quoddy Head State Park and Acadia. I loved Montreal as well and would like to go back.

There are some other places I would like to see. I’ve always wanted to go to Europe, particularly France, Germany, and Austria. I’m fascinated with the history, architecture, and cuisine. Actually I would love to travel all over the world, just to see and experience the many different countries and diverse cultures.

I would totally love to go on a scientific expedition, especially somewhere like the Galapagos Islands. I’ve also always wanted to go to the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution.

If I could travel anywhere, where would I go? That is a hard question, because there are many places I would like to travel.

I would especially like to travel to the ocean. I would see all the fish and see how whales live. If any sharks tried to attack, I would swim as fast as the speed of light to get away. It would be neat to be able to communicate with the fish. I would want to speak to the sea animals and play with them.

Exploring the ocean would be fun and exciting because I never studied the water carefully to get a good look at the things in the water.
